TodayNYC uses optional Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site and improve the product. Google Consent Mode v2 starts with analytics and advertising storage denied. Browser analytics only load after you accept them; advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization remain denied.
The app also stores lightweight local preferences such as cookie consent and recent planning choices to make the experience smoother across visits.
Arrival planning inputs—including ticket arrival time, airport or station, baggage profile, and selected NYC area—are processed in the browser to build the plan. TodayNYC does not send an exact arrival time or hotel address to Google Analytics. If analytics are accepted, it may record coarse product information such as arrival mode, transport hub, lead-time range, time-of-day band, selected duration, and whether a plan was generated.
When the TodayNYC custom GPT is used, the planning service keeps anonymous operational counts for plans generated, interactive plans opened, and plan-sharing actions completed. These records use a random short-lived flow identifier so the three steps can be counted as a funnel. They do not contain the ChatGPT conversation, the location text supplied by the user, exact coordinates, an account identifier, or a name. Coarse fields such as category, duration, number of plan options, and share method may be recorded. These anonymous operational events may also be sent to Google Analytics 4 with advertising personalization disabled.
When you use the TodayNYC AI chat on this website, the messages and approximate location text you submit are sent to OpenAI through its API so that OpenAI can generate the conversational response. TodayNYC does not save the conversation or that location text in its own database. OpenAI processes API inputs and outputs under its API data controls and retention terms. TodayNYC separately keeps only anonymous operational counts, such as a chat being started, plan options being generated, a plan being selected, opened, or shared, together with coarse planning fields that exclude the message text and exact coordinates. The service also applies anonymous rate and monthly spending limits to protect availability.
If you choose the microphone button, speech recognition is provided by the browser or operating system after you grant microphone permission. TodayNYC receives the resulting text, not an audio recording, and does not upload or store microphone audio on its server. Voice-input availability and processing therefore depend on the browser and its speech-service privacy terms.
You can review or change your browser analytics choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” button. TodayNYC may use Google Ads for contextual search campaigns and conversion measurement, but does not enable remarketing, Google Signals, advertising user data, or ad personalization.
TodayNYC does not require an account for this MVP and does not sell personal information.
